Some words from Philomena Marano:
"I work from subjects that have fascinated me since childhood.
In my cut paper technique, I’ve tried to develop a language in which color forms ricochet off one another, ultimately informing the next component.
I am aware viewers do not immediately recognize the work is composed of cut and layered paper until they are up close and more intimate with the art. This notion of ambiguity adds another level to the pieces - one of awe and wonder, as in a Magic Show of Illusions, or a “Fool the Guesser” game . It keeps the work always, on the brink of excitement – Something I never want to lose."
